ProSMDR does not require a dedicated machine and can be run on any computer in your organization with a minimum Pentium III processor and 128Mb of Ram. ProSMDR has been tested for Windows XP and Vista.

To collect data from most telephone systems you will need a Serial Port and a null modem cable.

ProSMDR License and Trial Versions

The ProSMDR installation file will allow you to install a complete working copy of the application on any computer for a 14 day free trial. During the trial period ProSMDR will display the logo screen along with a message that the program is unregistered and running in trial mode.

To use the program beyond the 14 day trial you must purchase an unlock code.

When you first launch ProSMDR you will see an initial screen which will show you the status of your install. Initially the application runs in Trial mode and will run for 14 days. The number of days remaining is displayed on this screen. To continue using ProSMDR in Trial mode just click the Continue button.

To activate the program and remove the 14 day restriction the first thing you need to do is write down the ROM ID which is displayed above the Activate button. With your ROM ID handy visit our website at:

After purchasing you will be provided with a Registration Code. Press the Activate button to enter your Registration Code.

Configuration of ProSMDR

When you run ProSMDR for the first time the setup wizard will open and allow you to configure the initial settings.

Manufacturer and Model
Select a Manufacturer for your telephone system from the the drop down menu. Then select the model of your telephone switch. Click Next to continue to the Com Port Settings

Com Port Settings
Select the Com Port you used to connect to the SMDR port of your telephone switch. Be sure to set the Speed, Parity, DataBits and Stop Bits the same as are configured on your telephone system switch.

Web Server Setup
Warning-Please read this section carefully before changing the web server settings.

Web Server Application

A Web Server application is required to allow users to access the reports available in ProSMDR. Microsoft provides IIS or the Internet Information Server with many versions of Windows Operating Systems If IIS is installed on your computer it will be listed in the drop down list of available Web Servers.

If not don't fret becaused packaged in your installation file is a web server application called Cassini. Cassini will run on just about any operating system and the setup wizard will install and register ProSMDR without any interaction from you.

Web Server Port

Typically a Web Server serves pages on TCP/IP port 80. Many of you are familiar with TCP/IP ports from other telephony applications and here you may select another port to provide web pages on. This may be handy for port forwarding in your router and to avoid conflicts with other Web applications. Before you change this port be sure to check with the network administrator.
If IIS is installed on your machine the Cassini server will default to port 8080. While ProSMDR will work on either IIS or the Cassini Web Server we have found the Cassini server to perform much faster and recommend that you just press Next to continue.

Preferences
Lastly select this option if you want SMDR Data Collection and ProSMDR to run when the system is restarted. This is a handy feature which will alllow ProSMDR to keep running if the computer is restarted for any reason.

Please Note:
When the program is running in trial mode the splash screen will display when the program is started. Data collection will not begin until someone presses the continue button. Once you have registered your application the program will start automatically.

OK ... Where did the program go ?

When you run ProSMDR the initial screen or splash screen will display and then close. The application is now running and collecting data, ready to serve web pages and is right below in the Systray
